Your next event is around the corner. Have you considered making it hybrid? An in-person event offers a great chance to network but when there is a valuable business presentation why not add a virtual component. This makes it accessible to an even larger audience not just the ones that couldn’t make your event.
That’s where your social media audience, specifically on LinkedIn, is valuable. LinkedIn Live allows eligible members and Pages to broadcast live video content to a LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn Page, or Event. Here's why it's so effective: You're running two events simultaneously. At the physical location, attendees network and engage in person. Meanwhile, through LinkedIn Live, you're broadcasting to a potentially global audience.
This dual approach not only increases your event's reach but also caters to diverse preferences - some professionals prefer in-person interactions, while others value the convenience of remote participation.
The top three advantages to using this medium as a complement to your live event are:
More potential prospects
With a virtual stream on LinkedIn Live, your event content is amplified through notifications and alerts to your followers. It will also be visible on LinkedIn's feed. Once the event is done, anyone on LinkedIn can watch the replay.
2. More Promotion opportunities
When you’re done streaming, the entire event will be available on the Event post itself. The post will be visible to all LinkedIn members, even those who did not attend. It’s a good idea to link to the replay on social media posts and in other public spaces, like your brand blog.
Because you will attract a larger audience virtually, you can be opportunistic by using social posts to promote the event both through organic and paid reach. You also reap the benefits of amplification because a larger virtual audience increases sharing potential.
3. More Content for Lead Nurturing
Your live event can be used for future integrated campaigns via social, email, web, and more. When you make a recording of your live event, it is a new asset that you can utilize when reaching out to prospects and current clients.
You cannot stream directly from LinkedIn so you will need a streaming tool like StreamYard, SocialLive or Vimeo. Most of these streaming tools will allow you to record your LinkedIn Live Event. You can then upload that video to sites like YouTube where you can then embed your video on your own website. You can also create video snippets–short edits of the long event that can be used for social posts and email marketing. The snippets could highlight an important point a speaker made during the presentation, a stat that was shared, or some other pivotal moment from the live event. These snippets can be used as teasers to get someone to watch more or inquire for more information.
Create a unique landing page around the recording with data sheets, white papers, and more. This allows the viewer of the page to do more research around the product or service which gets them one step closer to contacting your organization.
